Credit notes and partial voids
Correct an issued invoice in full or in part. What the client already paid beyond the new total goes to their wallet or back to them.
An issued invoice never changes. To correct one, issue a credit note against it. Crediting whole lines works as a partial void.
- Open the issued invoice. Under Credit note or partial void, choose Issue credit note.
- Under Lines to credit, tick each line and type the amount to credit, before tax.
- Choose a Reason, and add a Note if you like. It prints on the credit note.
- If the client has already paid more than the invoice will be worth, choose Add it to the client's wallet or Refund it to the client.
- Check the totals and choose Issue credit note.
- The credit comes off what is still owed first.
- A refund is money you pay back yourself (cash, UPI or bank transfer). Bliss moves no money; record it when it is done. The Refunds to pay tab under Credit notes lists the ones still to pay.
- Credit notes have their own numbering and print as PDFs like invoices.
- For a GST invoice, a credit note can be issued until 30 November after the end of the financial year it was issued in.
- A session whose line is credited in full can be invoiced again.
See all of them under Invoices, then Credit notes.
